About Richard K Latigo

Richard is a partner at Lex Uganda Advocates and Solicitors. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all Courts of Judicature.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws degree of Makerere University and a post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Uganda Law Development Centre.

He specialises in dispute resolution with an emphasis on civil, commercial law litigation, insurance, securities litigation and professional liability. He is a leading litigation practitioner in Uganda with years of successful court experience and advisory on projects (development and financing) and commercial contracts.

Richard also has experience in land transactions and regularly advises government entities and private clients on land rights; and was a pioneer in undertaking blueprint Resettlement Action Plans in the Albertine region for leading oil companies and wayleaves acquistions.

He heads the Enery, Oil and Gas Department of the Firm.

Prior to joining Lex Uganda, Richard qualified and practiced journalism with The New Vision and authored articles for several international publications.
